Origin Story

Climate Coaches exists because I couldn’t figure what else to call myself. If you’re here, maybe you struggle with that too?

Since early 2009 I have been a social media marketing strategist and trainer and my business was called My Social Media “Coach”. When my last big client went bankrupt in late 2019, I grieved the loss of income until I realized I didn’t really want to do that work anymore anyway. What I really want to do is work on climate crisis full-time (more than full time, actually.)

Over the past few years I have earned enough through my business to allow me to dive into training and read books that have helped me make sense of the very complex issue climate presents. While I don’t claim to be an expert or guru, I can surely coach others who are seeking this information and save them time. 

As our ranks of coaches grow, I’d like this site to become a resource for referrals for projects, speaking engagements, etc. 

Additionally, since I was unable to find a ready-made model for being paid to be a “climate coach” I’ll address that issue as I figure out what is working for me and other climate coaches to be able to afford to do the work we feel called to do and that the planet desperately needs.
